Best time to visit Arusha National Park

Arusha National Park is a protected area located in northern Tanzania. The park is known for its varied topography and diverse wildlife, including giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, colobus monkeys, and over 400 species of birds. The park also encompasses Mount Meru, the fifth highest mountain in Africa, which can be climbed by experienced hikers. The lower slopes of Mount Meru are covered in dense forest, while the higher slopes offer alpine desert conditions. Visitors can also explore the Ngurdoto Crater, a collapsed volcanic crater that forms a natural bowl-like shape, and the Momela Lakes, a group of shallow lakes that are home to large numbers of flamingos and other water birds. The best time to visit Arusha National Park is from June to October, during the dry season, when wildlife is easier to spot and hiking conditions are ideal.
