SafariBando / Safari & Tours / 8 Days Tanzania Luxury Safari / Details
You might not get the Great Migration in Tanzania’s Southern parks, but what you do get is acres of wildlife-strewn landscapes with not another person in sight. Settle into East Africa with a night in Dar es Salaam before flying straight to the Selous for boat trips, camping, and game drives. Ruaha National Park is up next, home to 10% of the world’s lion population and enormous herds of elephants. Explore the wilderness on foot or in a 4x4 with some of the best safari guides on the continent.
You will be driven from the airport to The Oyster Bay Hotel. This hotel is a beautiful large home and garden with eight ocean-facing suites. Situated in Tanzania's coastal capital, Dar es Salaam, it is a haven of calm away from the frenetic city. The boutique hotel overlooks palm trees and the ocean in a view reminiscent of Miami. Hospitality is paramount and guests are made to feel like kings and queens. Meals, drinks, and even airport transfers are included in the rates so there are no hidden surprises.
Relax in the garden, lounge or shaded gazebo with a good book or drink. Books and board games are available. Swim in the pool or use the gym next door. The Oyster Bay Shopping Centre is within secure walking distance, where you can go shopping there for African designs, souvenirs and clothes. You can also head out further to explore Dar es Salaam. The obliging staff will help you plan activities and tours or day trips to the islands.

You will fly into The Selous Game Reserve and be driven to Beho Beho Camp. The private family-owned camp is located in one of the most magical places in Africa and overlooks a river gorge that carves through this famed game reserve. It has four spacious palm-leaf and stone cottages (or bandas) on either side of the main house. Baileys Banda, an exclusive private villa, is another accommodation option, perfect for families or friends, and has its own private pool. The meals are sumptuous and the hospitality is superb.
Beho Beho offers the option of guided and guarded walking safaris or game drives. For an intimate wildlife experience, guests can walk to The Treehouse with their guide and spend the night there under the African sky. Or they can relax in the comfortable bandas, swim in the pool or view game with their own private telescope. Guests can also visit Lake Tagalala and experience its famous hot springs or go on a boat ride and encounter hippos and crocodiles.

You will be transferred to Jabali Ridge. The bigger sister of Kwihala Camp, Jabali is Asilia Africa’s latest project and a rather sophisticated one at that. Taking inspiration from the heart-stoppingly beautiful Ruaha landscape of baobabs, palms, and rippling kopjes, architect Nick Plewman and designer Caline Williams have waved goodbye to everything you ever imagined a safari camp should be. The result is a stylish haven of sultry, earthy colors, open spaces, and smooth lines (and not one single piece of canvas).
In a place the size of New Jersey but with less than half the visitors of the Serengeti, Ruaha is the very definition of an exclusive experience. Jabali Ridge is just that, with a prime location next to the Mwagusi River and direct access to the best game viewing area in the park. Explore the area on drives and walking safaris with the guides and expect gourmet ‘bonnet picnics’ or surprise pop-up lunches. If not, the camp is the perfect place to just kick back and relax.
