SafariBando / Safari & Tours / 19-Day Tanzania Luxury Safari / Details
This all encompassing trip showcases the best of Tanzania's wildlife in one epic journey. You'll begin your journey in Tarangire and finish in the Mahale mountains, stopping at a number of luxurious camps along the way. This adventure will take you to some of Tanzania's top safari destinations, including The Ngorongoro Crater, the Serengeti, the Selous, Ruaha and the Katavi National Park. With so much on offer, this is not one to miss!
You will be met at Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to the camp which is located in the middle of the Tarangire National Park, a stone's throw from the Tarangire River. A reasonably high end camp with a mix of permanent communal areas and tented sleeping suites, providing the ideal amount of luxury without detracting from the spectacular surroundings. Well known for its enthusiastic and knowledgeable guiding team, who bring you face to face with massive herds of elephant, buffalo and the infamous tree climbing lions.
At Kuro Tarangire Camp there is a good combination of land based activity. Here time is evenly divided between game drive and walking safari, offering the best of both worlds. You will have the high intensity experience on a walking safari with the amount seen on a driven safari, both are worthwhile experiences. Night drive provides a different encounter with the wilds, showcasing species not visible during the day and the cats at their most active.

You will be transferred to Entamanu which teeters on the northwest rim of one of the world's most iconic natural phenomena, Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater. Uniquely perched to exploit the beauty of both the southern Serengeti plains and the plummeting crater below, this lodge has dramatic views, literally, all around. Breathtaking landscapes aside, this is one of the premier wildlife destinations in the world, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site to boot. The area is home to the regal Maasai people, known for their rich history and hunting culture. Everywhere you look there's something utterly remarkable. Plunge into the crater for a morning adventure, accompanied by your guide. Take a picnic and enjoy a peaceful lunch beneath the shade of a fever tree. Head back for a relaxed in-camp afternoon where sightseeing needn't require much effort. Prepare for an afternoon walk in the highlands with your guide, and perhaps a visit to a local Maasai community.

This camp is actually divided into two smaller camp’s, with a private lodging camp with it own facilities. Both are beautifully poised amongst the rocks of the Kogakuria Kopjies (little hills) in the Northern Serengeti. Enjoy spectacular views of the undulating grasslands, teeming with wildlife, especially when the migration moves through the area. The quality guides will lead you on a journey of exploration, with breathtaking wildlife and the drama of the Great Migration.
Game drive is the preferred method of exploration in the Serengeti National Park, providing the means to cover a larger area during a wilderness expedition. Bush walks are offered depending on the length of grass, with the intention of interpreting and encountering the small animals of the bush including reptiles, birds and insects. Dining in the bush with the sounds of the wilds all around is a unique experience not to be missed. The swimming pool is the ideal place to unwind during the heat of the day.

Unlike most temporary camps, Kigelia has a modicum of luxury that is in keeping with its external environment. It has a remote setting under kigelia (sausage) trees and overlooking the Ifuguru Sand River. Enjoy the daily game drives with a worthwhile walking safari thrown into the mix for good measure. Wonderfully positioned for predator sightings, herds of elephants, buffalo, giraffe and much more. There is never a dull moment at this camp.
Game drive is a great way to explore the incredible landscapes of the Ruaha National Park, providing the opportunity to follow lions or wild dogs on the hunt. Don’t waste anytime back at camp extending morning game drive into a full day of safari with a picnic. Walking safari takes a slower pace, stopping to appreciate the finer details missed by a noisy vehicle, relying on just your senses and an expertly trained guide, a thrill is sure to be had. Bush breakfasts and dinners out under the stars create a novelty that just can't be beat.

Established 20 years ago on the very same site it sits today, Chada is a camp of pioneering spirit, simple luxuries and genuinely astonishing safari. Hidden in the shade of fragrant tamarind trees, the six tents are some of only a handful in the million acres of National Park, making it one of the most rewarding places to visit in East Africa. It is said that Katavi receives fewer visitors in a year than the Serengeti does in a day, but with a hauntingly beautiful landscape and seemingly endless herds of game, we strongly suggest that you are one of the few...
Days at Chada are about freedom and adventure; game drives typically depart twice a day, but are very flexible and off road driving is also allowed which is a rare occurrence nowadays and very exciting! We also recommend squeezing in a walking safari for some wildlife encounters of the up close and personal kind, and an all day drive to get further afield, complete with exotic picnic to be enjoyed under the shade of the trees.

Located in the idyllic lost world that is the Mahale Mountains National Park, Greystoke Mahale is a byword for adventure. In the 1980s, explorer Roland Purcell built the first Mahale Mountains camp on the edge of the forest, captivated by his sensational surroundings and the magnificent chimpanzee population that roamed wild. Today, the camp has changed somewhat and beautiful wooden bandas have replaced the tents of old, but the magic and allure remain. This is a place where wildlife dreams come true and a hideaway that, selfishly, you hope no-one else ever discovers…
Greystoke’s raison d’etre is chimps. There is a group of around 60 chimps that most guests set out to view. Hikes can take from 2 to 7 hours and the pathways are bumpy and sometimes steep so a general level of fitness is required. But when you catch sight of the chimps foraging in the leafy undergrowth, everything else is forgotten. This is exceptional wildlife viewing at its very, very best.
