SafariBando / Safari & Tours / 11-Day Northern Namibia Self-Drive Adventure / Details
This Northern Circuit self-drive tour includes all of Namibia's must see places. You will start in the capital Windhoek and then make your way to the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert with its red sand dunes. After your desert experience head up north to the German coastal town of Swakopmund, before you explore Twyfelfontein's rock art. In Damaraland go and search for the desert elephants and then enter Etosha National Park, for a few days safari adventure.
After your arrival at Windhoek airport, you will be met and taken to the rental car depot to pick-up your car. After a briefing on your upcoming safari, you will make your way to Villa Violet, where you will have dinner and get acclimatised to the area.
Situated in Central Namibia, the cosmopolitan city of Windhoek serves as the capital of the country. The city has a colonial legacy that is reflected in its many German eateries and shops, and the widespread use of the German language. Windhoek has an interesting mix of historical architecture and modern buildings, many of which are worth a look, including the Alte Feste an old fort, the 1896 Christuskirche Christ Church, and the more contemporary Supreme Court.

After the sun is up, climb dune 45 and visit Big Mama, Dead vlei and maybe also Sesriem Canyon on the way back (you will have to take a 4x4 shuttle from the parking space in the park to get all the way to Dead vlei. Those shuttles do not have to be prebooked and can just be picked up on the spot).
